Sunshine Blogger Award!

Drawing Closer to Christ, thank you so much for nominating me! I keep seeing this floating around, and secretly I’m like “Dang, that’d be cool…” And now it’s happening! So sick. It’s like a dream that I didn’t know I had coming true! Dawn has been such a consistent source of support for this budding lil’ ministry, and I’m grateful for her nomination.

Rules:
• Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to him/her.
• Answer the 11 questions provided by the blogger who nominated you.
• Nominate 11 other bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.
• Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.
• List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post.

  1. What’s an important lesson you’ve learned in life?
  • One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in my 20 years of life is that dating is a process of evaluation, not a status.

2. What’s a good book you’ve read?

  • I’ve read the entire Percy Jackson series, and those books are amazing! Don’t let the movies fool you.

3. What’s your favorite characteristic about yourself?

  • I love the fact that I have a gift with communication and words. That’s something people have consistently noticed about me: a way with words, whether spoken or written.

4. What are your hobbies?

  • I love singing and playing what little acoustic guitar I know, archery, parkour, reading and writing, exercising, and animal handling! I have a very wide variety of interests lol.

5. Why did you start blogging?

  • I began this site as a response to the Lord’s call and gifting on my life. I’ve been gifted with a capacity to read, understand, explain, and write about His Word, and the Spirit was urging me to encourage and equip His saints, and be a good steward with what He’d entrusted to me.

6. What topics, if any, have you wanted to write about but haven’t because you feel your “fan base” would not approve?

  • Well this is juicy. I’m not sure, honestly. I can’t recall ever not doing a post because I was fearful of what others would think!

7. Are you married or single, kids or no kids?

  • I’m a 20 year old college student who is not married and has no kids. HOWEVER, I am in a beautiful relationship with my best friend, Hope, who I “hope” to marry someday, hehe.

8. What are you passionate about and why?

  • I am incredibly passionate about Jesus, if you couldn’t tell!! Everything I do, all the choices I make, my entire life revolves around knowing Jesus more tangibly, and making the real, life-changing Son of God known!

9. What is your favorite food?

  • That’s an unanswerable question. Legit I don’t know how people have favorite foods, but I do love me some fried chicken. It’s really good, you guys.

10. Do you prefer plane ride or road trip?

  • Depends on whether I’m going somewhere with family/friends or just getting somewhere. If I have people to travel with, then road trip for sure! Not even a contest, I fly all the time from my home in NY to get to school in Il, it’s not all that glamorous anymore.

11. What is your most memorable achievement?

  • I think one of the coolest things I’ve ever done was be a part of something Olivet Nazarene University does called the Variety Show, which is essentially a huge class vs. class talent show. Last year, we sophomores won the show and it was so amazing.

My Questions:

  1. Do you have a mission/life verse? What is it?
  2. Is water wet?
  3. Why’d you start this site? Where would you like it to go?
  4. Most embarrassing moment?
  5. What is God teaching you in this season?
  6. Would you rather go hiking or take a trip to the beach?
  7. Veggietales or Spongebob?
  8. What’s your favorite name or title for God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit?
  9. What spiritual gifts do you know you have? How would you like to use them?
  10. What’s your favorite superhero and how do they relate to Jesus?
  11. What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done/can do?

I hereby nominate:

  2. Do you have a mission/life verse? What is it?
Acts 20:24–But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

    Is water wet?
Oh goodness. I remember going over this question a couple years ago with some family friends, and my answer was always “duh, yes” until I heard some of their arguments, and then I just gave up on either side XD

Why’d you start this site? Where would you like it to go?
Well, I must say that I started it as an eleven-year-old that didn’t really know why she even wanted a blog, but it since has become a beautiful avenue for talking about Jesus and for sharing what He’s given me to say. And as for where I’d like it to go…I don’t really have any goals number-wise or anything like that–so long as it touches more souls, I’m content with it.

    Most embarrassing moment?
Hm. Well that’s a hard one – haha. I don’t know if I can pin down a specific most embarassing moment, but it’s probably something to do with something that comes out of my mouth. I like to think I’m pretty nice with my speech, and not brash or rude, but sometimes I forget whose company I’m in when I say something and it doesn’t go over well XD A recent example would be when we were playing pickleball with a local friend and a couple Chinese exchange students, and I was telling my parents and my friend’s mom that we shouldn’t play with my pickleball because “it’s made in China, so it’s pretty cruddy,” well within earshot of our Chinese friends – oops. And then I proceeded to not understand my mistake for like a whole minute – smh.

What is God teaching you in this season?
Probably to pray and believe in faith for Him to complete His promises! He’s given me “prayer challenges” recently, and it’s been such an exercise in faith to pray for people over time with a promise in hand from God and then see that happen in one way or another!

Would you rather go hiking or take a trip to the beach?
Well, I’m not much on exercise in the form of walking, but I do feel like I would enjoy hiking if I hiked with slower people. But a trip to the beach also sounds pretty nice, even though I’m not too much of a beach freak either – haha.

    Veggietales or Spongebob?
Oh my. Is this even a question – haha. My answer is hands down, no question VEGGIETALES — *starts singing the theme song*. For some reason, I always thought Spongebob was lame as a kid anyways XD

What’s your favorite name or title for God/Jesus/the Holy Spirit?
Honestly, Jesus. Literally the most beautiful name ever. *There’s No Other Name pops in my head* I’ve never been too big into names for God and things, or at least to the level of how some people go a little overboard in having to pray to the right name to get the right results, but I love how the Hebrews used the functions of God as a reminder of Who He is and what He had promised to them. If I do have a favorite reminder of His character in a name, I haven’t found it yet 🙂

What spiritual gifts do you know you have? How would you like to use them?
Hmm. Well, I know all Spirit-filled believers have the ability to walk in all of them in God’s timing, but there are some specific leanings I think. I’m not entirely sure about any specific leanings, at least within the list we often think of, but I do know I have been gifted in a musical sense and also as a prayer warrior.

What’s your favorite superhero and how do they relate to Jesus?
Honestly, I wasn’t into superheroes either – haha. Well, other than LarryBoy. And the League of Incredible Vegetables. *that theme song pops in my head* But I honestly forget the specific spiritual lesson behind that particular show, so I just might have to rewatch it to tell you how they relate to Jesus XD.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done/can do?
Hm – wow. I think travel the world! It has been such an amazing journey to witness to people all around the world and travel so much!
